*/Theodore Roosevelt’s ideas on Immigrants and being an AMERICAN in 1907./ **/’In the first place, we should insist that if the immigrant who comes here in good faith becomes an American and assimilates himself to us, he shall be treated on an exact equality with everyone else, for it is an outrage to discriminate against any such man because of creed, or birthplace, or origin. But this is predicated upon the person’s becoming in every facet an American, and nothing but an American…There can be no divided allegiance here. Any man who says he is an American, but something else also, isn’t an American at all. We have room for but one flag, the American flag… We have room for but one language here, and that is the English language.. And we have room for but one sole loyalty and that is a loyalty to the American people.’/** **/ Theodore Roosevelt 1907/** **/Every American citizen needs to read this!/***** *KEEP THIS MOVING*** * ** **This philosophy worked didn’t it ! From1880 until 1940 we had thousands/millions of immigrants from especially Ireland, Italy, Germany and Poland, with a scattering of others from all over the world. We were the “Melting Pot” and they all became Americans. Anything less than one language and assimilation results in segregated enclaves and a natural divisiveness. Huge sections of Europe are now exclusively Muslim and “No Go Zones” for even the local police. The wonderful historical life and culture of the individual European countries is gone forever. In the US, the lax immigration policies of the last 25 years and the rampant Illegal Immigration in the last 8-10 years are threatening the America President Roosevelt talked about and the one we have all known. The next President and Congress must be people of laws and principals if we are to stop the cultural deterioration and regain a unified pride in the United States.*
